MY 61 HOUR LABOR:
Diary of my 61 hour labor
Tuesday July 11th 3:45am
Woken by contractions, not to intense yet.
5:15am go back to bed to get some sleep.
6:50am woken but slight wetness feeling, waters broken, but just a drizzle.
8:45am go to local doctor-he checks my cervix- it’s shortened and soft waters completely brake.
11:00am arrive at hospital, contractions have stopped. Get put on CTG machine no contractions still.
2:30pm hosp sends me home because I’m not getting contractions. I’m sent home with antibiotics to prevent any infection since my waters have broken. Have to come back tomorrow to be monitored again and again the next day then on Friday they'll induce me if nothing has happened itself b4 then.
Wednesday 12th
go walking around shopping centre hoping it might bring on labor.
1:40pm contractions finally start 15 mins apart 30 secs each.
2:20pm contractions now coming every 2-3 mins but still only short 30 seconds.
3:00pm go see local doctor again only 1-2 cm dilated.
5:00pm arrive at hosp for monitoring. Contractions 10 mins apart still only lasting 30 secs. They send me home again and I have to go back at 5 tomorrow unless something happens in mean time. Thursday 13th Contraction still been every 15 minutes throughout the night but still not lasting long enough, and they arn't very strong. 10:00am getting ready to go out (late mother-in-law's memorial) 11:00am about to walk out door when i go to toilet & discover im bleeding, i call hospital, they say come straight in for monitoring. 1:00pm arrive at hosp with mum. i'm put on the CTG machine again. Contractions still not lasting long. Docs decide it's time for me to have this baby & they begin inducing me. 3:00pm Heath arrives at hosp. with Connor. Contractions getting intense now. 4:00pm Mum has to leave to be at work by 5pm.-she's a bit disapointed that she might miss it all but she has already had the last 2 days off work because we thought bubby was coming. 5:00pm i cant stand the pain! i'm crying & yelling. "i can't do this, i'm tired. i want to atop now" ( I'm a big sook this time round). 5:15pm another midwife comes in to chech if im dialated. I am. " give me a little push, i can see the head NOW PUSH" well i did just that. 5:24pm Alexis is born into the world, and what an enterance she makes, she's wrapped the cord around her neck twice, but once docs unwrap it she crys. (made us feel so good, we never got the chance to hear Caitlyn cry). I did it! 61 hrs and no drugs-did it all naturally. and now i have a beautiful baby girl. my family is complete! 12:00am docs checking me out-my uterus hasn’t contracted back down and my loss is quite heavy and I have shocking cramps. Docs hook me back up to the drip and run something through that will make my uterus contract-OMG this is painful, it’s like labor pains all over again this goes to 4:00am. Nurses keep bub at the front desk with them for the night. Saturday 15th Yay! i can go home tonight. being discharged at about 6pm. At Home Haven't had many visitors. Connor absolutly adores his new baby sister he help to feed her, her bottle, and bath her he has even attempted to help change her nappy. Lexi likes her sleep. especially during the day, at night she likes to keep me up with her, But i'm slowly getting her into a routine now. She's a piggy wiggy, LOVES her food. I'll keep u updated as time goes on..................
